Rating Systems DUPR (and USATT)
Does PodPlay connect with ranking systems?
Yes, PodPlay connects with the USATT ranking system for Table Tennis, the DUPR ranking system for Pickleball, and will continue to build connections with other systems.
How does the ranking system connection work?
There are two aspects to the ranking system connection.
First, the Read function allows PodPlay to connect with an USATT or DUPR account through Auth0. It reads the account profile of the customer and pulls their ranking or rating into their PodPlay account.
Second is the Write function, which will copy the Scoreboard results after a match or game and send it to the ranking system for historical accuracy.
When would the Write function not work?
If everyone in the match or game has a USATT or DUPR profile, PodPlay will be able to send the Scoreboard results to the ranking system without issue. If someone in the match or game does not have an USATT or DUPR account, the Elo or DUPR system will not know what to do with the information and will not record the results.
How does an Admin set the requirement for Customers to have a DUPR or USATT rating when it comes to Events?
An Admin can set a required rating during the Event creation flow. They will set the rating requirements, which will mean that any Customer who does not meet the minimum rating will not be allowed to join the Event.
A game or match was played, and the Scoreboard results were not sent to USATT or DUPR; what happened?
Check to ensure that everyone who played in the game or match has their USATT or DUPR account connected to their PodPlay account.
