What is a PodPlay Client?
PodPlay clients are using PodPlay to run their facility. They use our software because it’s the only software in the recreational venue management space that is iterating fast, adapting to customer needs, and can run autonomously.
What is a Customer?
Customers are the daily users of the PodPlay app. In other words, the Client’s Customers. Our technology is built with the Customers in mind. The booking flows, app design, and software logic are all geared toward creating the most fluid Customer experience.
What is a Club?
A Club is your recreational venue—it is your facility.
What is an Environment?
An Environment is a technical term for your specific white-labeled PodPlay app. This Environment is sometimes called an instance. Once we have some basic information about how you’d like to have your app look and function, we’ll set up a Staging Environment. After working out some kinks in the Staging Environment, we’ll create your Production Environment.
What is the difference between the Staging Environment and the Production Environment?
The Staging Environment is a sandbox where you can learn how to use PodPlay. It will have all the preferred parameters for your Club and mirrors how the production-live app will function, without the possibility of accidentally charging a customer. When your Production Environment is up or live, actions taken here will charge customers with real money.
What is the difference between a Member and a Non-member?
Your Club’s Customers will fall into two buckets:
Members
Those Customers who purchase a subscription from your Club for extra perks.
Non-members
Those Customers who visit your Club and do not have an active Membership.
What is a Booking Horizon?
A Booking Horizon is the amount of days, forward in future from today, that a Customer can book a Reservation.
What is the difference between an App and a Web App?
The Staging Environment is always built on a Web App. This Web App is available to your Customers on a desktop or a phone. it is built with a vertical interface so that even on the phone, the Web App appears, by all accounts, to look like an App. After the Staging Environment is ready and moved into Production, the Production Web App is the public facing Environment where your Customers will interact with your Club.
If you are on the Basic+, Professional, or Autonomous PodPlay plan/tier, you will have the option for an iOS an Android App. This is the native phone App which can be downloaded from the Play Store and Google Store.
What is a Reservation?
A Reservation is when a Customer books a court/table at your Club. It is the normal way a Customer will enter your club and play on a court/table without joining an Event.
What is an Event?
An Event can be either a Class/Clinic, an Open Play, a Tournament, a League, or a Party! Customers can sign up for Events in the App when open spots are available.
What is a Series?
A Series is is an Event that lasts longer than one day, with each Event connected.
What are Promo Codes?
Promo Codes are valuable tools for a Club to use when gauging Customer interest in a particular Event. They are also valuable for generating interest in the Club.
What is the Dashboard?
The Dashboard is the back-end PodPlay space where the Club’s staff will work to create Events, build Promo Codes, offer Memberships, and charge Customers. Only people with a unique role, like Admin, Coach, Manager, or Staff, can access the Dashboard.
What are Play Passes?
Play Passes are unique packages that Customers can purchase. A Play Pass could be for Classes/Clinics, Open Plays, or for Replays.
What is a Listed Event?
When an event is marked “listed” this means that the event is viewable by everyone and will appear on the community page of your app.
What is an Unlisted Event?
When an event is “unlisted” it is hidden from the public. The event will not be viewable on the community page on your app.
