What is Court Locking?

Edited 6 months ago
  • When a customer is in the booking flow, they will have the option to pick a particular court to play on in the Club. This is called Court Locking.

  • Court locking allows customers with strong preferences to pay to pick their court

  • If the Customer locks a court, the PodPlay system’s algorithm must adapt to fit other Reservations around the locked court

  • Auto-select is the most efficient way to assign courts, allowing the algorithm to move Reservations as needed

    • The algorithm is designed to maximize court utilization and minimize the need for court switching

  • We strongly suggest incentivizing the Customer to use the auto-select by adding a charge to any Customer interested in locking down a preferred court

    • Across the previous 18 months, an average of 7 - 8% of all Reservations were locked using Court Locking
