How is a Coach paid for their work?

Edited
  • When a Coach sets up their profile, there is a blue button link labeled Start Onboarding under the Payments section. This is the button that leads a Coach to Stripe, so that they may set up an account to receive payments.

    • Without finishing this Stripe account, a Coach cannot be paid for their work through the PodPlay system.

  • If a Coach does not complete their Stripe payments onboarding, an Admin will see this error message in the Coach profile when clicking on the same Payment section.

  • Once the Payment method has been completed by the Coach, they will receive income for their work at the Club!

Please note: If your Club has elected not to pay any Coach through the PodPlay system, ask your PodPlay Customer Success Manager (CSM) to turn off Coach payments. There is a feature inside the back-end settings that will stop a Coach from setting up their Stripe account, which is necessary to avoid any Coach mistakenly setting up their Stripe account and receiving double-pay (payments through the system and outside the system) for their lessons.

Note for PodPlay's International Clients: Coaches are not paid through the PodPlay system if the Club is located outside of the U.S. The reason for this is that paying a Coach through the system would require a cross-border transfer, resulting in a currency exchange. Coaches at Clubs located outside of the U.S. should still be added properly to all Events and Coaching lessons, then the Club pays the Coach outside of the system. Clubs can easily manage how much a Coach needs to be paid using the Export button on the Coach page in the Dashboard. Data included inside the exported CSV includes:

  • A list of all private lessons, clinics, and other activities each Coach taught

  • How much money was listed on the Coach's rate during each lesson, clinic, or event

This CSV provides a clear, organized summary of Coach compensation.
